Untitled #3 on Flickr.I’ve been messing around with Brushes.app, the famed paint program for the iPad. Here is what is called a still life- but it’s just one of my favorite coffee cups.
Brushes is bringing me straight back to my freshman year drawing class- not for the sumptuous nudes provided by the Washington University models, but for the rewarding rush that used to present itself after re-working marks on the page exactly as intended. With Brushes, pencils don’t dull, charcoal doesn’t break or crumble, and erasers don’t wear away the fibers on the page. I guess there’s something to be missed about all that, but for now it escapes me.
